Digital Animation

Digital animation uses sophisticated software to create the illusion of moving images through the manipulation of individual still images.  Animation techniques were the foundation for movies and contributed greatly to the art of film (and later video).

Animation plays a foundational role in the creation of many forms of entertainment.  It is present in modern film (CGI), animated video, and gaming.

Bouncing Spheres

The first project we will complete with Adobe Flash will help you learn the basics of creating objects on the stage and making them move from place to place. It utilizes computer generated formulas between keyframes to define the path and speed of movement. This is known as vector animation.

This is a rather simple project that will only take one day to complete. However, it will require you to pay attention in class and follow the directions given to you by the instructor. You will create 10 different balls of various size and color.  There is a PDF tutorial located below to help you complete this project.
